I see you produced for ASAP Rocky, what is the story behind working with ASAP Rocky, how did you get involved in producing for him?
I connected with A$AP yams thru his tumblr RNT.. i wanna say that i found his tumblr through the writer andrew noz.. yams was familiar with my work with Main Attrakionz and lil B and encouraged me to send production and ideas through for a new artist that he had that had a big Texas influence but also very much cloud cloud rap also.
I see you have also worked with Lil B, how did you get in contact with Lil B and what was it like working with him?
Lil b had his personal email Dior Paint always available in his music videos and website but i never thought to actually send any production through because i thought he had his own set of producers which he did but then i heard a local producer by the name of franchise on the beat that was from around my on one of his most famous songs at the time “im heem”. i was like well if he can get beats to lil b so can i. i sent a pack thru that contained the beat that would eventually become “cocaine” and that was my foot in the door.
working with lil b is probably how u expect it to be. very vague very mysterious very based very rare
Any tips for young producers or people who just started?
Keep going for most people you are not gonna be very good off the bat and then one day its just gonna snap and make sense and you’re gonna have a beat that other people will be like, this is actually pretty good.
Also build up your résumé find artist and rappers that might not be as big but ones that you actually like and believe in and make music with them and build up your catalog before you start asking people to pay hundreds and thousands of dollars for your beats. your production will get better when you start collaborating with other artist and using their voice as an extra element to the song and refining and taking out things of your beat that you might’ve overproduced because you had no vocalist on there.

What is the best cut for a producer, an upfront fee or points?
Man get both if you can. tax the ever loving crap out of these record companies while u can.
What was your worst experience dealing with another producer if you have one?
I dont really collaborate with other producers outside of my circle shout out @glazeeed my co producer of the 17th best song of 2012 according to rolling stone magazine
I do encourage any producers to reach out and send me beats to rap on

What do you think Ai will effect the industry going forward? how will it effect producers?
its going to be hell
but i have faith that there will be a revolutionary human reaction to it and art itself will be pushed into a new direction that ai will struggle to replicate
but im just a positive person in general
